In its pages you'll find a true story about a journey in love and life. The searching and finding of true love and commitment to it. Wow. I don't want to give away much more, but this couple was friends with C. S. Lewis and shares some of their letters together, and so, of course -- that just makes them more wonderful! A Severe Mercy is an autobiography
A Severe Mercy has been reprinted with different covers, and though you may not judge a book by its cover, they honestly do give off a different view of the book itself -- so check it out if you get the chance, you can't regret it! This text brought me into a full circle of human emotions which has etched their story into my memories, and I purchase and share the book again and again, frequently rereading it myself. I highly recommend this meaningful and well-crafted piece of literature written.

I think I've hear of this book, but I've never read it. I love C.S Lewis though. Do you think it would be a good Book Club read? Great blog BTW! #Blogtober14
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking time to comment on my blog! You have a beautiful family, and I'm excited to follow you in your journey! I have never heard of the book but will definitely check it out. :)
ReplyDeleteVisting from Blogtober! First off, I have to say that I LOVE coming across other camp people in blogland! I'm not familiar with this C.S. Lewis book but I will have to check it out!
ReplyDeleteIt is fantastic! I think it would be perfect for a book club that comes with the entire book read to discuss -- if it is one that you come after reading a few chapters, you're going to have people read ahead and not be able to put the book down :) Let me know if you do -- that would be awesome! It has plenty of perspectives to discuss and people will want to share stories about how it relates to their lives or how it impacted them. I think it would be wonderful for book club!
ReplyDeleteThank YOU! It impacted me so much, I don't think you could regret it! Great to meet you!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I just love that you love camp :D It is such a WINNER book -- if you read it, please let me know what you thought!! Thanks Donna :)
