I grew up singing and celebrating to songs written many years ago. We stood up from our blue cushioned pews to worship God with hymns and organ. I love my hymns, but I also love that there are new songs we can sing that bring fresh words, music and adoration to our musical worship.
When my husband and I met, we were attending John Brown University, a private Christian liberal arts school in Arkansas where we both decided to study Worship Ministries. Through the course of my time at the university, we both learned so many different songs, liturgies and ways of worshiping God from various traditions and backgrounds in the Christian faith. My eyes were really opened in a positive way!
Upon my husband and my graduations from college, we knew that we would be serving in church ministry using our gifts and knowledge. With my husband being extremely well suited and gifted in band orchestration, electric guitar, singing and a playing truckload of modern instruments -- we knew we would likely be led to serve and work in a more contemporary and modern church. Coastal Community Church is a great fit for what God has called us to do for so many reasons!
We don't sing new songs for the sake of being "new" or leave out the old songs just because they're old. In fact, "Jesus Paid it All" is one of our go-to favorites. But we do look to who we are reaching out to, and keep in mind our community when choosing songs. Songwriting has been on the hearts of our leaders, and now -- it has come to fruition with our first Coastal Worship song: Victorious!
This is a song written by one of our wonderful worship pastors, Kyle LeForge. It is SO well suited for our church and even for our first time guests that come in our doors each week. This is a song of life-change and hope in Jesus! My husband had the privilege of singing on the recording, and several of us from the worship team are singing background vocals!
Coastal Worship exists to make Jesus famous through energetic, creative, and passionate worship music expressing a posture of celebration and freedom.
It is now available to preview and download on cdbaby, iTunes, and Amazon! We would love for you to check it out!
