Healthy Self

Having a healthy emotional, physical and spiritual state is important to work towards and maintain! This week's Mama's Tell All focuses on maintaining that healthy lifestyle when you have children. I think this brings up a great point -- things have changed and need to be reevaluated. Will you be able to have the same physical exercise or have as much time to recharge or have devotional time -- sometimes not!

Today I'll talk about the physical aspect of healthy living after having children.

Background

I used to play club ultimate [frisbee] during college. We had rigorous practices 3-4 afternoons a week and frequent tournaments. Pregnancy, recovery and breastfeeding don't coincide well with taxing sports.

Nowadays
Instead, I have begun a habit of strolling, drinking water [no soda] and eating a variety of food [no gluten]. I am an example to my son -- he's more apt to eat what I eat. When I eat cookies and chips -- he wants some too! In the positive, he also likes to eat tomatoes and grapefruit -- because he sees me eating them! I have been slacking a bit on salty and sugary, I think I could be better!

Aspirations
I have some goals that I've been working on this month - two of which are health related. I hope that I can stay on track! Pregnancy is a great motivator, a whole new little life relying on my health!

Comment below, because I'd love to know:: What have you done to stay healthy in recent years?
